Nathan’s Famous is an American classic and New York icon. It all started in 1916 when Polish immigrant Nathan Handwerker began selling five-cent hot dogs on Coney Island using his wife’s top-secret spice recipe and a $300 loan from two friends. Before long, Nathan’s Famous became the go-to spot on the Coney Island boardwalk for quality hot dogs at a fair price. The one small stand can now be found at over 50 thousand stores across the globe, and still, locals and tourists seek out the original Nathan’s eatery, rich with history and the true flavor of New York. Served alone or topped with delicious chili, sauerkraut, or melted cheese and a side of crinkle-cut French fries, you can’t get much better than Nathan’s Famous, the flavor of New York since 1916.
