What kind of food is available on a food truck?
In New York, there are an endless variety of cuisines available at all hours. And like everywhere else in New York there’s always a vegan, gluten-free or whatever dietary restriction is most popular at the time option for you. If you’re restriction of choice is particularly obscure just ask first.
Where can a food truck park?
Although street parking can be complicated, the NYFTA's members will work with you to find the perfect parking spot for your event or promotion. Food trucks can park anywhere on private property.
What about permits and insurance?
All of our food truck members are fully permitted and insured. They are registered with the department of health and the required governmental agencies. In the event that new permitting is required, we work with the truck owners to obtain them.

How do I book a truck?
Its easy! Please complete Book a Food Truck! Once submitted, a member of the NYFTA will be in contact within 24-48 hours. Please include as much information about the event as possible, including: event type, date(s), preferred truck, and estimated guest count. You can also email us at email@example.com.
How much should I expect to budget for a food truck?
Pricing varies greatly depending on the truck, the location(s), and timeframe. We are always here to help you find the right truck for your budget, every step of the way. Contact us to inquire about food truck pricing.
How many guests can one food truck serve? Can I rent multiple trucks?
Typically, one food truck serves 80 – 100 guests per hour. We can help source as many food trucks as needed for your event - from a single cart to dozens of trucks!
Can we customize our menu?
OF COURSE! We work with the food truck owners to curate custom menus to meet your event needs. From cocktail hour small one-bite appetizers to full meals for a corporate gathering, the NYFTA members do it all.
How far will NYFTA members travel for an event?
NYFTA members will generally travel within the Tri-State Area (depending on location). Additional fees typically apply outside the 5 boroughs.
Can I wrap a food truck?
Absolutely. Whether for a business or personal occasions, food truck wraps are creative promotional tools. Our members frequently facilitate marketing promotions for Fortune 500 companies. Contact us for more details.
Do your vendors rent their vehicles as mobile kitchens?
Yes! If you need a temporary mobile kitchen, please contact us.
BILLING & CANCELLATION
How does payment work?
Depending on your event, payment can be structured one in a few ways:
Private Event Buyout: Event host covers the cost of the catering and food truck services directly, and there is no charge for the guests. Prices are estimated at a per / person and time-based rate (typically 2 hours).
Private Event Sales: The hired food truck accepts cash and credit card sales on site. There is typically a minimum spend.
What if I need to cancel my event?
Our members understand that things happen. Cancellation fees and timeframes vary, and will be discussed upfront.
What if more people show up to a private then expected?
Most trucks carry a small excess of food and would most likely be able to serve an additional 20 orders at a per person charge. This depends on the truck and the amount of storage they have.
