All our lives we’ve been told over and over that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Since grade school, there has always been someone stressing the importance of breakfast. The same voice that’s making sure we eat our vegetables and making sure we finish dinner before dessert. Ugh! But we know the truth! It’s been right in front of us all along, the ACTUAL most important meal of the day, and quite possibly he most important block in the food pyramid, dessert. Luckily our friends over at The Good Batch have managed to keep their priorities in order and are making sure that dessert upholds its status.
The Good Batch is the sweet sweet brain child of Ana Gordon and Steve Hartong., and it all started (like every good story does) with a cookie. First making them to satiate her husbands craving for the Dutch delicacies of his families native land – Ana began hand pressing strroopwafels, and before long she was slanging these bad boys at the Brooklyn Flea much to the delight of her fellow Brooklynites. Community is a huge part of The Good Batch, and they bring joy to their community through delicious food, one good batch at a time.
As demand for her cookies, pies, coffee, ice cream, and ice cream sandwiches grew so did their business, opening the first brick and mortar spot in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn where all the magic happens. The shop has a kitchen in the back, where everything is baked, and a café in the front where everything is enjoyed. And of course they still hit the streets! The Good Batch cart can be found rolling to the rescue all around the streets of Brooklyn whenever a situation needs a little sweeting.
